Arlen Austin

is completing a Ph.D. in the Department of Modern Culture and Media at Brown University where his scholarly work explores the relation between social movements and the mass media. He holds a BA and MFA from Columbia University. Arlen is the co-editor with Silvia Federici of The New York Wages for Housework Movement 1972 - 1979: History, Theory and Documents. His writings and archival projects have appeared in GLQ. A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies, TDR: The Theatre and Drama Review, differences: A Journal of Feminist Cultural Studies, and as part of the "Abusable Past" series from Radical History Review.
